What Does Love Mean in Your Space?

The festive season is almost upon us and many are making plans to celebrate and have a good time during the holidays. For most, it is time to take stock of the year, and this often comes with the realisation of things that are yet to be done, things accomplished, and things to plan for the coming year.

Whatever, you find as you take stock, take time to stop and thank God for the blessing he has sent your way in 2017. Trust me, no matter how your year has been, you will find that you have things to be thankful for in your life. Remember the old song? Count your blessings name them one by one and it will surprise you what God has done.

Now take it a step further and look around you, spread the joy, share some love. Give to those around you who may be in need. You can also give just to share love and happiness. Ours can be a difficult world, so a little sunshine won’t hurt anyone. Instead it will go a long way to promote love, joy, peace, togetherness, unity, and a sense of belonging.

What does love mean in your space? Is it a hug to someone who needs to know that they are valuable? Is it food items to that family struggling to make ends meet? Is it a visit to the orphanage at the other side of town with items they really need? Is it gift vouchers for your employees to show your appreciation? The list is endless.

It is easy to get caught up in our own lives, to focus on our needs and wants, and to forget that the life we already have is someone else’s prayer point. Stop today; take a break from the rush, the worrying, the planning, or whatever it is you are trying to achieve for yourself before the year runs out. Think for a moment about how you will express love to someone in this season. Plan towards it, and make it a reality in the coming days we still have left in this year.

May your heart be merry, and your days filled with joy and laughter as I send early wishes of happy holidays your way.
